This thread is locked. All patches, service packs, and upgrades are in place, and I did everything you mentioned in your post above. The drive has the yellow triangle symbol beside it in device manager.
I have this drive in my dvus, but I haven’t burned any DVD’s yet. I simply ask the question to try to see if others who have this drive which I also have have found the drive to function well and that, hopefully, is the reason I haven’t read much about it.

The disk booted just fine and attempted to install XP without any difficulty, so I know that the drive itself is working properly. From what I’ve read, the issue seems to be writing to DVD. At the end of running the “fix” the software stated that the problem was still there, however I tested both retrieval and burning and they seemed h; work just fine.
